All you need to Know about heels Shapes

There is 3 main type of Heels Shape:

  • Cuban Heels

Cuban Heels

A Cuban heel is a type of heel commonly used in shoes for both men and women. It is a relatively low, broad-based heel that has a slightly tapered, angular shape. The heel typically measures between 1 and 2 inches in height, and it is wider at the bottom than at the top.

Cuban heels are often associated with Latin dance shoes and cowboy boots. In Latin dance, the Cuban heel provides support for the dancer during complex footwork and allows for better stability when dancing on a slippery floor.

In addition to dance and Western wear, Cuban heels can also be found in fashion shoes, such as loafers, oxfords, and ankle boots. They can add a touch of retro style and sophistication to an outfit, and are a popular choice for both men and women who want a bit of extra height without sacrificing comfort or stability.

These shoes are perfect for:

Flared Heels Dance Shoes

Flared heel dance shoes are shoes that are designed specifically for dancing, with a flared heel that provides extra support and stability. The flared heel is wider at the bottom than at the top, which helps to distribute your weight more evenly and prevent you from tipping over or losing your balance during spins and other dance moves.

Flared heel dance shoes are commonly used in ballroom dancing, salsa dancing, and other types of partner dancing. They are available in a variety of styles, including open-toed sandals, closed-toe pumps, and ankle boots, and they can be made from a variety of materials, such as leather, suede, and satin.

When choosing flared heel dance shoes, it’s important to select a pair that fits well and feels comfortable on your feet. Look for shoes that provide ample support and cushioning, as well as a non-slip sole that will help you stay grounded and avoid slips and falls on the dance floor.

Unlike other types of high heels, such as Cuban Heels, Wedges, Flared heels or block heels, the straight stiletto heel is thin and straight, with no curve or angle. Latin dance is a style of dance that includes several different forms, such as salsa, cha-cha, rumba, and samba. The type of shoe that Latin dancers wear may depend on the specific form of Latin dance they are performing, as well as personal preference. However, there are some general characteristics that are common to many Latin dance shoes:

  1. Heel: Latin dance shoes usually have a high heel, typically between 1.5 and 3 inches in height. The heel helps to elongate the leg and add to the overall look and style of the dance.

  2. Sole: The sole of a Latin dance shoe is typically flexible and made of suede, which allows the dancer to pivot and turn on the dance floor with ease. The suede provides just enough grip to allow the dancer to move fluidly, while also allowing for easy sliding and gliding across the floor.

  3. Straps: Many Latin dance shoes have multiple straps across the foot and ankle, which helps to keep the foot securely in place and provide additional support and stability.

  4. Style: Latin dance shoes come in a wide range of styles, colors, and designs, with features such as open toes, T-straps, and embellishments like rhinestones or glitter. The overall look of the shoe is often an important part of the Latin dance costume and can help to enhance the performance.

Overall, Latin dance shoes are designed to provide the dancer with the support, flexibility, and style needed to perform the specific form of dance. Choosing the right type of Latin dance shoe can help dancers to move with confidence and ease on the dance floor.

To choose Latin dance shoes, consider the following:

  1. Heel height: Choose a heel height that you are comfortable with and that matches the level of dance experience you have.

  2. Sole material: Look for a flexible sole made of suede, which will provide the right amount of grip and allow for easy turning and pivoting.

  3. Straps: Look for a shoe with multiple straps across the foot and ankle, which will help to keep the foot securely in place.

  4. Style: Choose a shoe that matches the style of dance you will be performing and complements your overall dance outfit.

  5. Fit: Make sure the shoe fits well and is comfortable to wear, with no slipping or rubbing, to ensure that you can move with ease and avoid injuries.

Latin Dance Shoes are usually open toe dance shoes. They  often come  with T Bar strap orAnkle straps.

Usually dance shoes size  smaller than your regular sneakers. We would recommend you to size  up. If you got time, measure your feet, and get the perfect size by comparing  with our size chart!

Absolutely! Dance shoes are more comfortable than regular heels. That’s due to the Suede sole providing extra flexibility and the cushioned insole that provide comfort.

Latin dance shoes vary between 4.5cm to 10cm. Or from 1.5 inches to 4.5 inches. Cuban Heels are generally the lower heels dance shoes. While Straight Stiletto heels can go up to 10cm!

You want your latin dance shoes to be tight. The straps around your ankle need to feel a bit tighter than usual at first. That’s because latin dance shoes material is very flexible and will stretch. However, you would want you feet to stay firmly hold and feel secure.
